Meeting The Students For the First Time in Hyderabad

Just a few photos to show our visit to our partner school in Hyderabad. The pupils were really pleased to meet us, and, as well as telling us all about their life at the residential school, they were very keen to know if their education and schooling are similar to pupils' experiences in the UK. The first photo shows a final year pupil whose home we visited- we met his sister and father and learned a lot about his background. The pupils learn their regional language in the first year at the school and then, in following years, they learn the curriculum in Hindi and English - this means thatthey are operating in three languages most of the time!!

2 Teachers Visit Partner School in India

Exhausted, but excited after a long flight to Delhi, Miss Patel and I flew on to Hyderabad where we visited our partner school. We had a fascinating day at the school meeting all kinds of people: pupils, teachers, support staff, governors and so on. We were made to feel extremely welcome. Not only did we see lessons, but we attended assemblies, watched sporting activities, visited a pupil's home and were treated to a wonderful music and drama performance at the end of the day.
